Description
I am selling my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (that I only bought a month ago) because I got a great job and am "upgrading" a little bit. It was not my intention to sell so quickly, so I made some repairs and improvements (my loss, your gain)!!
When I test drove the vehicle, I noted that the brakes needed some attention. The person I bought it from consequently had the brake pads and rotors replaced at all four corners.
I paid to have a comprehensive vehicle inspection performed on the vehicle immediately after purchase. Here is the list of things that needed attention. The brake fluid needed flushed and refilled. The power steering fluid needed flushed and refilled. The trans fluid needed flushed and refilled. The alternator and battery needed replacing. The alternator belt needed replacing. The driver's side inner CV boot was torn. The outer tie rods on both wheels needed replacing. The car required an alignment.
Here is the work I performed on the car. I replaced the alternator, the battery, and the spark plugs and wires. I replaced the air filter with a K&N drop-in filter. I replaced the alternator belt with a Goodyear Gator belt. The supercharger belt looked as if it had recently been replaced, so I didn't replace that one. I had the CV boot replaced and both outer tie rod ends replaced. I flushed and refilled the brake fluid, flushed and refilled the power steering fluid, and drained and refilled the transmission fluid. I didn't flush the transmission fluid because the history of the car is unknown. The fuel filter was also replaced with a new one. I also had a 4 wheel alignment done and the tires balanced and rotated.
The car has a six-speaker BOSE stereo system. The factory CD player does not work. The display on the radio is faint. It can only be seen in bright sunlight, however, the HUD (head's-up display) shows the radio information fine. All the lights and gauges function as they should. The moonroof operates flawlessly. The dual climate control system works. It displays the outside temperature on the display and one side can be operated independently of the other. The DIC (driver information center) operates correctly and displays average fuel econonmy, oil life remaining, miles to empty, and fuel used. The car has charcoal leather seats and the driver's side is power and heated. The rear has a lockable pass-thru to the trunk...perfect for skis or anything else you might need to carry.
The car is red with chrome (factory) GTP wheels. The headlights are hazed over (not too badly) and can probably be polished/buffed out. The paint is in great shape; minor flaws...pretty much what you would expect from a 7 year old car. The current mileage is 91,471 but keep in mind, this is my daily driver and will change. The engine is a 3.8L supercharged V-6. Key word: supercharged! This car is FAST!! I have gotten as good as 32mpg on the freeway, but as low as 23mpg (average) simply because I can't keep my right foot off the gas pedal haha!
